We Are TERRIBLE

My slow pitch softball team is by far the worst team I have ever played on in my entire life. Take today for an instance, we let them score 15 runs in the 1st inning. Of course, there is no mercy rule in our league. So, basically I was giving the opposing team batting practice.

I am thrilled to tell you that we lost 24-3, and I struck (spelling?) out five batters in four innings. I was relatively happy with my performance over all. Deep in the third inning I realized that maybe it isn't such a good idea to be pitching with a couple fractured ribs, pleurisy, or whatever ligament damage I have done to myself in the past four months. I did go 0-3 at bat as well. I know you are all thinking, how on earth could she be relatively happy with herself? I had three great line drives, that all happened to be snagged by pure luck. The second baseman (a girl) made a diving catch between first and second to snag my first one. The short stop was cheating a little and played closer to second then I on other batters and snagged what would have been beautifully placed between the pitcher and second base. I come to bat in the bottom of the 4th with bases loaded and two outs. I hit a line drive down the third base line. My team said that the guy was clearly air-born and shocked that he was able to even get his glove on it, let alone catch the thing. Game over!

Oh well, we all went out for the company happy hour after the game and expensed it back. Gotta love those perks! Until next week.
