Lately, I have had a real desire to give back to the community. Of course, don't get me wrong, I was raised to volunteer and give back...but never have I had the real drive to do so until just recently. That sounds pretty terrible, but honestly I am at that age that I am really looking for ways to give back. For instance I am trying to train for the Denver HALF-marathon and I have signed up for a few 5k's to keep me in the spirit. I am only signing up for the 5k's that are for a good cause because to be honest I could go run 3.2 miles without paying 30 + dollars for no good reason.
Last Saturday I had the opportunity to play in a Mud Volleyball tournament. It was for the March of Dimes. The tournament raised in excess of $250,000. There were 300 teams in the one day tournament. Good thing it was 1 day, otherwise I don't think I would have wanted to come back the next day. For those of you who know me know I absolutely hate to have my hands dirty. I am just not a fan of having dried mud caked on my hands. However, it was for a good cause, so I did my best not to think about it.

We got the pleasure of playing 5 real games and two fake games. We weren't really all that good, but we had a blast. I got the pleasure of making some new friends and give back to the children..double plus good! The only negative, I can think of is that it started at 8 am on a Saturday and I had still had dirt in my ears on Sunday afternoon...keep in mind that is after 2 showers! As soon as I get my camera cord I will post all of my pictures.
