Another first checked off the list...Night Sledding. Bubbles, Hungry, Seabiscuit and I went sledding on Saturday evening or maybe Sunday morning depending on how you look at it. It was 1:30 in the morning and roughly 25 degrees. We had just gotten like 3 or so inches of fresh snow, had a few cocktails and then off to the hill. Liquid courage always makes any idea seem like a brilliant plan.
I bought a sled for 6 bucks at KB Toys store earlier in the day when I was out shopping with Week Day Mom, so I was pretty excited to go out and use it. After all, everyone knows I am a big kid.
As you can see I am walking back up the hill in the park near our house in my lovely bright green jacket (courtesy of momma dukes). I must have had four or five layers on the top and only pajama pants on the bottom. It is amazing I don't have pneumonia. I did however, have ski gloves on so at least my hands weren't chilly. Sledding really was a great rush. I probably would have been a little more inclined to sled more than once had I been better dressed or if the wind wasn't so fierce. It was rather chilly on what bare skin was exposed. Hungry went twice without fail, Bubbles went once and decided to go down the hill backwards (wasn't her actual choice, but that is the way it worked out) and Seabiscuit didn't want to go at all, but she got talked into it. She ended up being the only one that fell off the sled. Apparently, she hit a rock, a stick, a dry spot or something and the sled stopped and she continued to on. The best part of the event was right before she fell, I actually told Bubbles and Hungry that it would awesome if she fell. It wasn't two seconds later and face first into the snow she was. :) I know I am a cold heartless individual that derives pleasure from others downfall...at least I know this. I am really kidding, I don't derive that much pleasure but a good chuckle is always fun.
