Barefoot.

Growing up in the south, you were able to be barefoot almost 100% of time...grantite you did have to wear shoes to school, church, organized functions, etc...but if at all possible, barefoot was the way to go.

I was given one particular gift this year, that took me by surprise. It was the gift of being able to go barefoot, but not really. A company called Vibram has come up with what might be the only shoe I wear for quite sometime. This is the answer to everything, well at least shoe related. It could easily be the most versatile shoe on the market, it ranges from bouldering (rock climbing for you outdoorsy challenged) to windsurfing. I realize that those of you who know me, know that fashion is definitely not my top priority. These shoes are definitely the fashionably challenged, but I enjoy that about them. Hell, if I could wear crocs every day I'd be a happy camper. Here is a picture of the different styles Vibram has come out with.

I have the style on the far left (with the one strap across the top). Although, I just got them today, I am anxious to test them out in all situations. Climbing, Hiking, Running, Swimming, Walking. Heck if they had clip-ins on the bottom, I would even use them for biking, but I am not that lucky. Putting on these shoes felt as if I was putting on a glove for my feet. It was as if I was back in my childhood days of running around without any shoes. Ahhhhhhh the good times.

As I can imagine, these shoes are not for everyone, but they will definitely be added to my I can't go anywhere without pile that I keep in my car (flashlight, screw driver, bathing suit, t-shirt, shorts, rubber band, and deodorant)...that is when I am not wearing them. I'll keep you posted on how they handle all the tests they have in front of them.

Enjoy your holidays everyone. Hope you all get to enjoy the blue skies, the peaceful sounds of mother nature, and all the little things that bring a smile to our faces. Its about the little things...
