Swing of things.

I am finally getting back into the swing of things with the blog. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I started writing again. It gives me a such a great release, almost to vent...but I really don't have anything to vent about in life. I live life with extreme pleasure. I try to enjoy life to fullest with minimal and I do mean minimal stress.

I have been catching up on a lot of news in the area. I recently read an article about the Denver Post (which I am actually beginning to become a pretty big fan of) about a college student that was playing beer pong before involved in a shooting. Before I go any further I will tell you that no one was injured in the shooting...so no worries about the drinking and then injuring someone or the coming up with anything short of intoxication for a defense case. However, what bothered me about the article was the charges that the student is facing. The sophomore in question (Alex Grayson) is could face possible charges of reckless endangerment and prohibited use of a weapon. The Gun's owner was also lectured about proper gun storage.

Okay so no one seems to think that those charges are crazy...until you find out the Alex is only 20 years old. Beer Pong at 20 (even in Boulder County) is ILLEGAL! I know I sound like the pot calling the kettle black. I don't think I know any individual that waited to have their first drink until their 21st birthday. But honestly, the majority of early drinkers I know, didn't have their name published in the newspaper for playing beer pong and illegally shooting a gun. What about the owner of the gun. Most likely, the owner of the gun, happens to live in the apartment that the gun was fired in. Most likely, the owner of the gun was contributing to the intoxication of a minor. How are they not in trouble for drinking under age and contributing to a minor? Hello? Did I miss understand the laws? Its okay to consume alcohol under the age of 21 as long you commit a different crime that you could face possible charges? Or its okay to contribute to delinquency/intoxication of a minor as long as you get a lecture about something else? Oh wait, I forgot we are talking about Boulder County...an entire different set of rules apply to that county.
